Today’s featured tech tip…
How to quickly find a specific word or phrase on a long web page
Do you often find yourself having to scan the text on really long web pages for a certain word or phrase related to a topic that you’re interested in?
Some web pages are literally thousands of words in length and the font size is often very small, both of which can make it very difficult to find what you’re looking for.
As luck would have it, it’s actually very easy to search for a specific word or phrase in any major web browser...
All you have to do is press the Ctrl+F key combination to activate the browser’s search feature (in most browsers you’ll see a small Search window pop up near the top of the browser).
Now type the word or phrase you’re looking for into the search box and the first occurrence of your search term will be highlighted on the page.
Click either Next or the down arrow (depending on the browser you’re using) and it’ll skip to the next occurrence of the search term.
Simply keep clicking Next until you either find what you’re looking for or reach the end of the page, whichever happens first.
As I mentioned above, the Ctrl+F keyboard shortcut will open a Search box in virtually all major browsers including Chrome, Opera, Firefox, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi and many more.
And guess what? This tip isn’t just for web browsers. It works in most Windows programs and apps as well.
Bonus tip: This awesome tool will let you check your Internet download and upload speeds to make sure you’re getting the speeds you’re paying for.
