Today's Quick Tip....
How to search Google for a person's social media accounts
Do you ever find yourself needing to find a list of someone's social media accounts?
Whether you're trying to track down a childhood friend or someone who left town owing you twenty bucks, there's a very simple way to give it your best shot via social media...
Just search for their name on Google along with the @ symbol.
For example, let's say you had a childhood friend named John Doe and you'd like to see if you can find him on one of the social media sites. Just head over to Google and type @johndoe and see what comes up.
Of course JohnDoe is a fictitious name, but all you have to do is substitute the person's real name in place of JohnDoe and you'll be in business.
If your search with the first and last name squished together doesn't give you the results you want, try separating them with a space like this: @John Doe
While this won't work in every case - or even in most cases - it does work often enough that it's always going to be worth a try.
And now, a word of caution: Before you decide to use this technique to search for someone, I strongly recommend that you take some time to think it over first.
Is there a reason why the person you're looking for wouldn't want to be found?
There could be situations where the person you're looking for could consider this to be a form of harassment - or even worse, stalking.
In short, I don't recommend using this technique to track down someone who would rather not be found.
Your safety and the safety of the person you're looking for should always be your first consideration. Just sayin'.
