Today's Quick Tip....
How to test the RAM inside your Windows PC
Is your Windows PC plagued by frequent unexplained glitches, or even worse, frequent "Blue Screens of Death (BSODs)"?
If so, the culprit could be a RAM module that's gone bad. You can easily find out using a handy free tool called MemTest. Here's how:
1 - Visit this page and download the MemTest tool.
2 - Right-click on the downloaded zipped folder and click Extract all to unzip the contents.
3 - Open the MemTest folder and double-click on memtest.exe to open the program.
4 - Click the Start Testing button.
MemTest will now start checking your PC's installed RAM. When it's finished it will tell you if it found any defective RAM in your system.
If no defective RAM was detected, you're good to go as far as the RAM is concerned.
However, if the test did find some defective RAM you can either have it replaced by a repair shop or replace the defective RAM module(s) yourself.
Don't know what type of RAM you need to buy for the replacement? The handy System Scanner tool at Crucial Technology will tell you.
