Today's Quick Tip....
If you have an iPhone you're probably used to downloading and installing apps from the Apple App Store.
Likewise, Android users typically get their apps via the Google Play Store.
If you're ever tempted to download an app from any third-party app store or download site, I strongly recommend that you reconsider.
They certainly aren't perfect and malicious apps do slip through Apple and Google's extensive screening processes on occasion, but they actually do a pretty good job at ensuring the apps you install from their repositories are safe.
Unfortunately, the same can't be said about the third-party app sites.
If you take the security of your devices and your personal and financial information seriously, do yourself a favor and limit your downloads to just the official Apple and/or Google app stores.
As they always say, better safe than sorry. After all, when it comes to smartphone apps, just one bad app can ruin your entire day (and maybe even your entire financial life).
