Today's Quick Tip....
Warning: You need to update Google Chrome right now
Google has just released a new security update that patches several security flaws in the Chrome browser.
At least one of these flaws is currently being exploited by hackers to take control of users' machines and use them to spread malware to other PCs via the Internet.
Since this is a very serious situation I strongly recommend that you install this critical update immediately. Here's how:
1 - Launch your Chrome browser.
2 - Click the Customize and Control icon located in the top-right corner of the Chrome window (it looks like three vertical dots).
3 - Click Help > About Google Chrome.
Once the "About" page is displayed on the screen Chrome will check for new updates and download the ones that are ready to be installed.
4 - Once the updates are downloaded a "Relaunch" button will appear.
Click on that Relaunch button and Chrome will close and then relaunch itself, installing the updates in the process.
Note: If there are no available updates showing after the "About" page loads, that means your Chrome installation is already up-to-date and your machine is safe from the threats the updates are designed to block.
