Today's Quick Tip....
Why you should update multiple WordPress plugins one at a time
Why you should update multiple WordPress plugins one at a time
If you have a WordPress blog it probably has several plugins installed on it.
When you log into your WordPress Dashboard and see that two or more plugins need to be updated, do you automatically check all the boxes and update all the plugins at once?
If the answer is yes, I would recommend that you stop doing that and start updating each plugin individually, one-by-one.
Why? Because WordPress plugin updates are frequently buggy, and occasionally a bug will be so severe that it literally breaks your blog (prevents it from loading in visitors' browsers).
If you go full speed ahead and update several plugins at once only to find that your blog no longer loads, how will you know which plugin is at fault?
In a panic, most people will then uninstall all the plugins at once and pray the problem goes away.
However, if you'll get into the habit of updating your plugins one at a time and checking to ensure that the blog still loads as it should between each plugin update, it'll be easy to determine which plugin is causing the problem. It'll be the one you just finished installing.
I realize it takes a couple of minutes longer to install multiple updates this way, but I can tell you from experience that a two minute delay will pay off well the next time you have to track down a buggy plugin.

From the blog...
Yes, free antivirus apps are just as good as the ‘paid’ apps.
I'm often asked if free antivirus programs do just as good a job at protecting a PC from viruses as their 'paid' counterparts. Perhaps surprisingly, the answer is yes. Want proof? Read this post.
Q&A: Can you recommend a good camera repair service?
A reader is searching for a good mail-in camera repair service. This post has my recommendation.
Q&A: How do I view a web page’s source code with Chrome?
